About SJ

The act of creating is sincerely mediative for me, with the focus being within the process rather than the outcome. Drawn to layering contrasting bold colours, flowing brush strokes and organic patterns, interwoven to reinterpret the world as I will it rather than just what’s seen. With a personal ethos of: Why recreate something, when I can reimagine it?

Raised across a variety of landscapes in Australia, my journey started in the small fishing town of Dunalley, Tasmania, later travelling the country in a van and spending my formative years in the rural outback of Western Australia, before returning to Tasmania to finish school. As an adult, the seed of curiosity continued to grow leading me to experience contrasting environments of bustling creative cities such as Melbourne and Brisbane.

At heart, I will always be a small town lass making her mark on the world, with a dream to one-day move abroad. I begin that long-awaited chapter in 2026 with a return to small town living within the creative community of Hebden Bridge, UK.
